Digital Artist Portfolio
I am an Ankara based artist primarily focusing on mixed media and digital. Along with acrylics and charcoal, I started working on digital paintings and illustrations in the late 90s, when options were quite primitive.
I like to experiment with shapes and colors, and challenging traditional art forms like marbling art and shamanic symbols, while still being very much inspired by them. Also an IT lawyer and digital rights activist on the side, I have always been fascinated by technology and through illustration, pixellating and bending patterns digitally I aim to create bold colorful pieces to reflect my many existential crises, and my hopeless optimism.
"Art is a line around your thoughts." Gustav Klimt
"The world is my oyster" is a metaphor used by Pistol in Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor: the world as an oyster he can open for his own fortune.
Four hundred and twenty years after the play was published, this piece reimagines that idea for the digital age. A vibrant, dynamic oyster figure symbolises the boundless possibilities the internet offers us, depicting our desire to explore the digital world and how digital tools can enrich our artistic expression and transform our interaction with the world.
